ABOUT Jerry

Jerry Saffrie, born in Utrecht in 1971, stems from a family that has entrepreneurship running in its genes and where work and private life are seamlessly intertwined. With this background, his own passion for entrepreneurship emerged, motivating him to enter the real estate sector in 2005. In 2015, Saffrie embarked on a new chapter in his career by founding Covast, a real estate developer active in both the Dutch and international real estate sectors.

Meticulous APPROACH

Covast is known for its innovative approach to real estate development. The company seeks diversity in its property purchases and pays meticulous attention to the development of each project. Jerry Saffrie plays a crucial role in this, among other things by ensuring the interests of the local community with every purchase. This commitment sometimes goes so far as to involve mediators, especially in international projects where language barriers and bureaucratic hurdles can complicate development.

TEAM

Covast’s team has grown significantly over the years under Saffrie’s leadership. The team consists of 10 permanent team members, supported by an extensive network of expert advisors. Together they form the beating heart of Covast, and they are the linchpin in the projects that are being worked on.

SUSTAINABILITY

In a world where sustainability is central, Jerry Saffrie embraces his own vision of projects that provide lasting and aesthetic added value to the environment. A recent example is the ‘Cozi’project, a high-end leisure park in Erica, Drenthe, inspired by Scandinavian and Japanese architecture, where harmony between construction and nature is central.

Another remarkable project concerns the transformation of the gym of the famous Judo world champion Anton Geesink; his gym has been redeveloped into an apartment complex, where materials from the old gym were reused.

FOCUSED YET INTUITIVE

In his approach to the real estate market, there is no definite plan for the founder of Covast. For Jerry Saffrie, it’s all about those specific places that he feels have potential. It is about the right type of property, sometimes provided through its extensive network. Every day new offers come his way. When, after a ‘quick scan’ of the object, it turns out that it fits within the established profile, Covast buys it or enters into an option agreement.

ATTENTION TO CHARITY

With deep roots in the province of Utrecht, Jerry Saffrie dedicates himself annually to (local) charitable efforts. He supports various charities, including the annual ‘Heart Beat Gala’. In addition, he has been a loyal sponsor of the local petting zoo in Maarssen for more than twenty years, partly because of his strong connection with the community and his commitment to social responsibility.
